Classification of Aviation Terminology and Its Practical Application in English, Kazakh, and Russian Languages

The article is devoted to the analysis of the peculiarities of aviation terminology in English, Kazakh and Russian, the causes and consequences of language barriers and terminological inconsistencies in a multilingual country like Kazakhstan, the difficulties in the formation of aviation terms in the Kazakh language, the predominance of the calque method, as well as the state of their use in official and informal professional communication were identified.
During the study, the three-language equivalents of technical, navigational, operational, administrative and regulatory terms, abbreviations and codes used in the aviation industry were compared, and the difficulties in their translation (polysemy, context, abbreviations, untranslatable terms) were shown.
The article uses content analysis, comparative linguistic analysis, psycholinguistic interpretation methods to study professional language communication in the aviation industry, the terminological system, and the process of communication in multilingual conditions, and a case experiment was conducted to determine the level of understanding and use of terminology among aviation specialists in Kazakhstan, as well as a survey that allowed assessing their terminological knowledge.
The study recommended the following measures to develop aviation terminology: development of interactive “simulators”, scripted video materials and mobile training applications, their regular use in terminology education for aviation specialists; preparation of a trilingual glossary and Kazakh professional training materials, and regular language training.
