Abstract

The article describes the content and results of a study aimed at studying the issue of modern monitoring of student performance. This problem has become relevant due to two factors. The first factor is associated with the transformation of the classical university into a research university. The second factor is the current monitoring of students' knowledge in the context of using artificial intelligence tools. The purpose of the study is to conduct an information search, study the problem field and generalize scientific knowledge on the problem of current monitoring of students' academic achievements in modern conditions. The study used the methods of observation, discussion, information search, study of regulatory documents, as well as factor analysis, comparative analysis, assessment and generalization. The results of the theoretical analysis will serve as the basis for a practical solution to the urgent problem of current monitoring of students' academic achievements in modern conditions.One of the challenges in implementing ongoing student assessment is that it must be done in a context of widespread and virtually unlimited access to artificial intelligence tools in assessment. Banning the use of artificial intelligence tools and digital technologies in the ongoing assessment of students is a simple but unwise solution. The article will be useful for scientists, methodologists and teachers of higher education.
