OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FORMATION OF DIGITAL LITERACY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL STUDENTS BASED ON VIRTUAL REALITY GAMES

Abstract

The article discusses virtual reality games, their application in education, and the possibilities of developing digital literacy in primary school students. In addition, the concepts of digital literacy, virtual reality technologies, virtual reality games, digital technologies, etc. are described in the study of the theoretical aspects of the formation of digital literacy of students. During the research, an analytical review of foreign and Kazakh literature will be conducted, effective methods of using virtual reality games will be analyzed.

The importance of developing digital literacy in primary school students is undeniable, as it is the main factor of socialization in a digital society that is currently in demand, as well as a well-rounded personality in a modern educational environment.

In addition, the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated May 22, 2020 «On approval of the list of textbooks for secondary education organizations, educational and methodological complexes for preschool organizations, secondary education organizations, including in electronic form» introduced the subject «Digital literacy» from the first grade. In this regard, the article discusses the use of virtual reality games to observe 3D objects and various animations in real time in order to improve students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in the modern discipline of digital literacy.

The article provides a survey, analysis of research results and conclusions on determining the level of digital literacy of students and their understanding of virtual reality games using scientific methods.
