Methodological System of Communication-Oriented Mastering of Russian Vocabulary in a Turkish Audience

The article is devoted to the problems of mastering Russian vocabulary in a Turkish audience. Russian Russian The relevance of this study is due to the lack of developments in the methodology of communicative teaching of the lexical aspect of the Russian language to foreign students at the initial stage of learning the Russian language. The present study is an experience of working with Turkish students who are starting to study Russian for the first time as part of an organized educational process. Vocabulary is the most difficult level of the language system for productive assimilation. In this regard, there is a need to develop theoretical and applied aspects of determining the content of teaching Russian vocabulary in relation to a specific foreign audience.
A study of the current system of teaching Russian in a Turkish audience indicates the absence of a systematic approach to introducing vocabulary, as well as an insufficient level of development of lexical knowledge, skills, and abilities, which negatively affects the perception and production of the studied lexical units in students’ oral and written speech. The above allows us to put forward as a research problem the identification of the potential opportunities offered by the course in Russian as a foreign language for implementing the technology of communicative vocabulary teaching.
The author offers a set of exercises (a three-phase cycle) aimed at the formation of students' communicative competence: communicatively directed language exercises, speech training exercises and proper communication exercises. “Russian Language” and “Russian-Turkish thematic dictionary” textbook samples of exercises and tasks developed by the author are given.
