Article Review Procedure
1. The manuscript is submitted in electronic format (docx) by uploading it to the Journal website https://publications.ayu.edu.kz. Two versions must be uploaded: one with author details and one anonymized version without author details; full author information (including phone numbers) must be uploaded as a separate supplementary file.
2. The author’s (authors’) full name, academic degree, affiliation, country, city, and email address must be provided in four languages (Kazakh, Turkish, Russian, and English). An ORCID number (“Open Researcher and Contributor ID”) must be provided.
3. The responsible specialist of the Scientific Publications Department checks the manuscript for compliance with technical requirements and has the right to return the article if it does not comply.
4. All manuscripts are mandatory screened using anti-plagiarism software. Manuscripts with an originality rate below 75% or written using artificial intelligence are not accepted for further consideration. If the originality rate exceeds the threshold, the manuscript is forwarded to the editor, who assesses its compliance with the Journal’s scope. If the manuscript does not match the Journal’s scope, the author receives a reasoned refusal. On average, the initial screening takes 2–4 weeks.
5. For each manuscript that passes the initial screening, the scientific editor or the executive secretary appoints two peer reviewers-degree-holding scholars in the relevant field-to determine the manuscript’s publishability.
6. The Journal applies a double-blind peer-review model, meaning that the identities of both authors and reviewers are kept confidential. The reviewer evaluates the relevance of the topic, the contribution to the field, and the quality of the results obtained. The reviewer provides a clear recommendation: accept for publication, request revision, or reject. If one review is positive and the other is negative, the manuscript is sent to a third reviewer.
7. The author must promptly revise the manuscript if revisions are requested and submit an updated version within the shortest possible time. The revised version is sent back to the reviewer. The review process continues until the reviewer issues a final decision. If the author does not respond to reviewers’ comments for an extended period (no feedback), the manuscript is removed from the queue. If the author disagrees with the reviewer’s comments, the author may submit a reasoned letter to the editorial office. The scientific editor reviews the author’s request and makes the final decision.
8. Communication between the editorial office and the author is carried out via the system (reviewers’ or editorial board decisions are delivered to the corresponding author’s account) or via the Journal’s email. All materials related to the manuscript (final version, reviews, plagiarism report, and supplementary documents) are submitted to the editorial board. The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board, taking reviewers’ opinions into account. Manuscripts that receive a negative decision from the editorial board or are returned to the authors are not accepted for resubmission. In the event of disputes related to manuscripts, the final decision is made by the Journal’s scientific editor. On average, the decision to publish is made within 8 months.
9. Publication is carried out in the general order of the queue as materials become ready. The editorial office has the right to set the publication order based on manuscript readiness and the issue’s section structure.
10. After the table of contents is finalized, the technical editor organizes proofreading of article texts (in Kazakh, Turkish, English, and Russian) and the typesetting/layout of the Journal.
