Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript file is anonymized for double-blind peer review (no author-identifying information in the text or file properties).
  • The manuscript fully complies with the stylistic and bibliographic requirements of the "Guidelines for Authors".

Author Guidelines

Publication of materials in the journal is carried out through the Open Journal System online submission and peer-review system (https://publications.ayu.edu.kz).

1. The journal accepts articles that have not been previously published. Articles are accepted in electronic format (docx) by uploading them to the journal website https://publications.ayu.edu.kz via the Open Journal System.

2. The optimal length of a scientific article (excluding the title, author information, and reference list) must be no less than 3000 words and no more than 7000 words.

3. Paragraph indentation - 1 cm; the text must be typed with single line spacing. Page parameters: top margin - 2 cm; bottom - 2 cm; right - 2 cm; left - 2 cm. Font size - 12; font type - Times New Roman. Page numbering: not required.

4. Figures, tables, graphs, diagrams, etc. must be labeled within the text with a number and title (e.g., Figure 1. Figure title). The number of figures, tables, graphs, and diagrams should not exceed 20% (in some cases 30%) of the total article volume. Tables must be numbered and provided with titles. They must be referenced in the text.

5. First page:

  • UDC - Universal Decimal Classification index, GRNTI (https://grnti.ru) - State Rubricator of Scientific and Technical Information code, ORCID https://orcid.org (Eng. - “Open Researcher and Contributor ID”) - a non-proprietary alphanumeric code for the unique identification of scientific authors;
  • Full name of the author/authors (no more than 5 authors), affiliation (institutional location), city, country, and email address must be provided with affiliation in 3 languages (Kazakh, Russian, and English). Author information must be written in lowercase letters, Times New Roman font, size 11, in italics.
  • Full author details (full name, academic degree, place of work, address, mobile phone number, email) must be submitted at the end of an additional file.

6. Article title must reflect the content of the scientific work. The title should adequately disclose the content of the article and be clear and understandable. Sensational titles intended solely to attract readers’ attention should be avoided. The article title must be provided in Kazakh, Russian, English, and Turkish in bold uppercase letters.

7. Abstract - 150–250 words in 3 languages (Kazakh, Russian, and English). If the article is written in Turkish, the abstract must be provided in 4 languages (without formulas or bibliographic references). The abstract should briefly describe the purpose and content of the article, the main object of study, and its distinctive features.

8. Keywords/phrases - a set of words reflecting the content of the text from the perspective of the scientific field and research methods. The recommended number of keywords is 5–7; each keyword phrase should contain no more than 3 words. Keywords must be provided in 3 languages (Kazakh, Russian, and English). If the article is written in Turkish, they must be provided in 4 languages. Keywords should reflect the main content of the article, include terminology used in the text, as well as other important concepts defining the subject area and expanding the possibilities of finding the article through information retrieval systems.

9. Article text. The main text must include the purpose of the article, objectives, history of the issue under consideration, research methods, discussion of results, and a concluding section.

  • Introduction - the author introduces the research topic, objectives, and stages of the study. The introduction should enable the reader to understand the authors’ hypothesis and the tools used to test it.
  • Research methods / research methods and materials - this section should present the methods and techniques used during the scientific work, or the research methods and materials.
  • Analysis and results - the main part of the scientific article should include not only the description of the selected methods but also a theoretical analysis of the obtained results with supporting arguments. In this section, the author summarizes the main findings of the research. Results may be presented in textual form as well as in tables, diagrams, and statistical indicators.
  • Conclusion - in this section, the author presents their own position regarding the scientific work and formulates final conclusions based on the research results.

Funding information - indicated if applicable (published at the end of the article in italics in the language of the published material). This section specifies funding sources (grants, joint projects, etc.).

Statement on the use of artificial intelligence technologies: Authors of scientific articles may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools at various stages of manuscript preparation, including text writing, editing, fact-checking, and data analysis. However, the author(s) must clearly indicate in the article the use of generative AI and related technologies during manuscript preparation.

The AI model used must be indicated in the References list in the following format: Model name. (year, month, day). Description of the prompt or content [Large language model]. Platform name. URL

10. References. The reference list must include 15–20 sources, of which at least 30% must be foreign sources and/or sources indexed in international databases. It is recommended to include at least 10 sources from the last 3–5 years (including Scopus/Web of Science). For journal articles, the DOI must be provided.

Self-citation limit: no more than 20% of the total reference list.

In-text citations

Citations must be provided in the author–year format: (Abishev, 2025)

If one author has multiple works in the same year: (Ivanov, 2023a), (Ivanov, 2023b)

The reference list must be provided only in English

The References section must be presented only in English and formatted according to the APA style. English-language sources must be provided in their original form.

If the original source is in Kazakh or Russian, it must be formatted according to the following example:

author(s) → (year) → transliterated title [English translation in square brackets] → publication details (using English notation) → (in Russian)/(in Kazakh).

Example: Ivanov I.I. (2023). Jazykovye kartiny mira kak proizvodnye nacionalnyh mentalitetov [Linguistic worldviews as derivatives of national mentalities]. Moscow: KDU, 200 p. (in Russian).

11. The article must comply with the principles of scientific ethics. It is also recommended to include references to articles published in the journals “Yassawi Journal of Engineering Science” and “Bulletin of Khoja Akhmet Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University (Mathematics, Physics, Informatics Series)”.

12. Articles for publication are accepted from organizations in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Turkey, as well as other near and far abroad countries. Journal email: journal.engineering@ayu.edu.kz

13. Scientific articles are sent to production after undergoing double-blind peer review by scholars of the university and other higher education institutions and following the editorial decision.

14. Manuscripts are edited and will not be returned to the authors. The editorial board is not responsible for the content of the article.
