Abstract

The article examines the concept of verbal coherence as one of the key categories determining the quality of communication in the modern media space. The theoretical basis of the study is the concept of “speech fluency” developed in the works of N. Ualiyev, which is reinterpreted and expanded in this paper through the notion of verbal coherence in accordance with contemporary media communication requirements. This is explained by the fact that the importance of communication services, communication units and communication focus in the media is growing every day along with the development of modern technologies. Verbal coherence is understood not only as compliance with literary language norms, but also as logical organization of ideas, semantic integrity, natural speech patterns, and clarity of information delivery.

The paper analyzes the role of communication and text in the media space, highlights the structural and functional features of media texts, and emphasizes the importance of verbal coherence in ensuring effective media communication. Special attention is paid to the pedagogical aspect of the issue, particularly the role of verbal coherence in the educational media environment and its influence on the development of learners’ linguistic awareness and communicative competence. The findings of the study contribute to improving media language culture and enhancing the quality of pedagogical communication. The article also proposes criteria for assessing lexical compatibility and provides specific examples based on the analysis of media texts. The study develops practical recommendations for media content producers and identifies the impact of adhering to language norms on the informational culture of society. The findings can be applied in the process of developing media literacy.
